Life Like a Pink Flower 🌸

This afternoon, as I stood on my balcony watching people pass by, I could hear the fruit and vegetable sellers calling out in the street below. In the middle of all that noise and movement, a man came riding by on his bicycle, carrying pots of plants. Among them, one caught my eye instantly. I stopped him and bought it — and to my surprise, it cost only forty rupees (can you believe it!).

The plant’s name is still a bit confusing — I’m yet to find its proper botanical identity. But honestly, the name doesn’t matter. All my other plants are green, and then there is this one: a delicate pink flower, detailed like fine artwork, standing out with its cheerful, colorful glow.

And it made me think — shouldn’t life be like this pink flower?

A little different from the usual shades of green.
Colorful, joyful, and true.
Open and authentic, not complicated.
Carefree, yet rooted deeply.
Not hiding in corners, but shining in the open.
Handled gently, with love and care.

Yes, I think life, for me, should be pink like this flower.

All around us, the world can feel the same — busy voices, the routine, the familiar shades of green. Yet God often places in front of us something different — something that catches our attention, lifts our hearts, and whispers, “Life can be more than this. I have color and joy for you.”

Jesus said in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Life in Him is not dull or monotonous, but radiant, joyful, authentic, and free — like that pink flower standing out in a garden of green.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the small ways You speak through Your creation. Teach me to live a life that shines with Your joy and truth, just like that pink flower. Help me not to blend into the noise of routine but to bloom in the uniqueness You’ve given me. May my life reflect Your beauty and draw others closer to You. Amen.
